A few years ago, I lost my job.

At first, it felt like everything had stopped. But it also gave me something I hadn’t had in years — time to think about what I actually wanted to do with my life.

I’ve always loved working with wood. There’s something special about taking a simple piece of wood and turning it into something with character and movement.

So instead of going back to another job that didn’t mean much to me, I decided to start a small workshop of my own.

That’s how CraftedByJohn began.

Today, I spend my days carving wooden mechanical animals by hand, trying to create pieces that feel alive, simple, and timeless.

My hope is that when someone holds one of these creations, they feel a little bit of the joy and curiosity that inspired me to make them.
